Terms of Service for Patch

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Patch mobile app (the "App") provided by Jenika Shah ("we", "us"). By using Patch you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

What Patch is

Patch helps you check skincare and makeup product ingredients and log how your skin reacts to products over time. Patch shows general information about ingredients and patterns based on published sources and on what you log.

Not medical advice

Patch provides general information only. It is not medical, dermatological or professional advice, and it is not a substitute for consulting a qualified professional. Ingredient effects vary from person to person. Always patch-test new products and seek professional care for any skin concern. You use the information in Patch at your own discretion.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required in your country, to use Patch.

Your account

Creating an account is optional and lets you sync your history. You are responsible for keeping your login secure and for activity under your account. We assign you an anonymous handle. You can delete your account at any time from the Profile tab.

Your content

You keep ownership of the notes and reactions you log. You grant us the limited permission needed to store and display that content back to you and to operate the service. Do not log content that is unlawful or that infringes someone else's rights.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the App, including attempting to break its security, scrape or copy its data at scale, reverse engineer it, or use it to build a competing dataset.

Third-party services

Patch uses Google Firebase, Google Sign-In and Sign in with Apple to run accounts and sync. Your use of those features is also subject to Google's and Apple's terms and privacy policies.

Intellectual property

The App, its design, and its curated ingredient data are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law. These Terms do not grant you rights to our branding or content beyond normal use of the App.

Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability. We do not warrant that the ingredient information is complete or error-free.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any skin reaction, product decision or loss arising from your use of the App. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the App, which for a free app is zero.

Termination

We may suspend or end access to the App if you violate these Terms or to protect the service. You can stop using the App and delete your account at any time.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.

Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will change the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the App. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
